Who We Are

Northcrest Developments is a Toronto-based wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP), a federal Crown corporation and one of Canada’s largest pension investors. PSP purchased the 370-acre former Downsview Airport lands from Bombardier Aerospace in 2018 and established Northcrest to steward its transformation.

The project now carries the name YZD, the original call sign of the Downsview Airport, paying homage to its legacy of innovation and connection.

Northcrest was established to lead the renewal of this massive site. Today, Northcrest is working with partners and neighbours to turn this land into one of North America's liveliest, healthiest and most enduring communities. 

 

Working closely with the community, Indigenous Peoples, industry, and non-profit interests, we are shaping our vision. Our aim is to create a home to many and a global source of inspiration for sustainable, healthy communities.
 
The YZD opportunity is unique. We will unlock these lands over several decades, developing a series of new neighborhoods. As the lead developer, Northcrest will be responsible for delivering the project vision, working with a range of like-minded partners to realize this generational city-building opportunity.
